"Guhagar Beach is one of my favourite beaches, and I usually visit it twice a year. It is truly one of the cleanest and longest beaches in the region. The location is convenient—just about a 5-minute walk from the main road—and the beach was very clean during my visit. The sunset here is absolutely amazing and worth waiting for.
I tried a few rides, including a camel ride, which added to the fun. Food stalls are located close to the parking area, making it easy to grab something to eat. The parking space itself is quite large, so finding a spot is generally not an issue.
However, some attention is needed for the washrooms and changing rooms. Even though people were willing to pay, water was not available in the facilities, which was disappointing. Improving this would make the experience even better.
Guhagar offers many homestay options, and the local food has a delicious Konkani touch. My personal favourite is Jog Ajji’s Mess, which serves simple, homely, and tasty meals.
For those travelling from Karad/Umbraj to Guhagar, be aware that the road conditions from Patan to Ghatmatha are quite bad. There are many potholes, especially on the ghat section, so it’s better to look for alternative routes if possible.
Overall, Guhagar Beach remains a peaceful, scenic, and enjoyable destination that I always look forward to revisiting."
