"Om Namah Shivaya🕉️🤍🛕The Kaduthuruthy Thalayil Sree Mahadeva temple is located about 14.5 km away from Vaikom Mahadeva temple and 14.5 km away from Ettumanoor Mahadeva temple. When describing the history of the Vaikom temple, Kharasura had got three idols of which the one he took in his mouth, had been placed at Kaduthuruthy, marking the origin of a temple on the top of a small hill. The kadichiruthy prathistha later came to be known as 'Kaduthuruthy'. The temple is under Travancore devaswom board. The sreekovil(sanctum) has a unique and beautiful design. The prathisthas of Sree Vaikkathappan and Sree Ettumanoorappan can be found in the both sides of temples. The temple is open from 5 am to 11:30 am and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm everyday. Visiting Ettumanoor Mahadeva temple, Vaikom Mahadeva temple and Kaduthuruthy Thalayil Mahadeva temple before uchapooja is believed to be good. Truly a calm place of devotion and spirituality 🛕🕉️.The nearest Railway Station is Kaduthuruthy Railway station. Malliyoor Sree Mahaganapthi temple is just 5 km away from this temple."

"KADUTHURUTHY THALIYIL MAHADEVA TEMPLE
Our pilgrimage tour this time included darshan at Ettumanoor Mahadeva temple, Vaikom Mahadeva temple and Kaduthuruthy Mahadeva temple. Kaduthuruthy Mahadeva temple is situated mid-way between Vaikom and Ettumanoor.
Legend says that Kharasura received three Shiva lingas that he carried one each in his hands and one in the mouth. The idols were heavy and Kharasura placed the idol in his mouth at the place the temple is situated now. The place came to be known as “Kadichiruthy” which evolved into Kaduthuruthy.
As you come from Vaikom you can turn left to reach the main entrance of the temple. There are around 30 steps from the road level to the temple. People who have difficulty in climbing steps can go around the temple and enter from the opposite side where the road and the temple are almost at the same level.
There is parking space at the roadside near the temple entrance. Temple timings are from 5.00 AM to 12.00 noon and 5.00 PM to 8.30 PM.
When we went there in the evening, there was hardly anyone around. So, we had a wonderful darshan there.
The other deities include Ayyappan, Ganapathi, Durga, Ettumanoorappan and Vaikathappan."
