"(Jun'25) We visited 'Kasar Devi Temple' in June, and it was a beautiful experience. Perched on a hill and surrounded by clouds and calm, the temple feels peaceful. The drive from Ranikhet to Almora felt like a dream—green, scenic and truly breathtaking.
What makes this place truly special is that it lies in a rare magnetic energy zone called the Van Allen Belt—shared only by Kasar Devi, Stonehenge (UK), and Machu Picchu (Peru). No wonder it feels so powerful. If you're into meditation or energy work, you can really feel the strong energy here.
Be careful of monkeys near the temple, and avoid eating at the food trucks below—they aren’t very good.
Kasar Devi isn’t just a temple—it’s a place where nature calms you, and your soul feels at peace. It’s definitely worth visiting for anyone looking for a deeper connection within 🙏🏻😇✨"

The Mystical Geomagnetic Field
This phenomenon has drawn seekers, yogis, and spiritual leaders for decades. Swami Vivekananda himself visited the area in the 1890s and meditated in a cave nearby, which is now a popular spot for visitors seeking a similar experience. The strong energy is palpable, making Kasar Devi a sought-after destination for those interested in meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual exploration.
While the scientific explanation involves the Earth's magnetic field, the experience for many is deeply personal and transformative. Whether you're a seasoned meditator or new to the practice, the serene environment and the unique energetic properties of Kasar Devi offer a compelling opportunity for introspection and rejuvenation.
Beyond the Temple: Exploring Kasar Devi
For those who enjoy a bit of a hike, a Shiva temple is located further up the hill from the main Kasar Devi Temple. This offers not only a spiritual experience but also elevated vantage points for even more spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and the distant Himalayas. The journey to these spots involves walking through pine and deodar forests, adding to the overall immersive nature experience.
Many visitors recommend staying overnight in Kasar Devi rather than just making it a day trip from Almora. This allows ample time to soak in the serene atmosphere, explore the surroundings at a leisurely pace, and truly benefit from the calming energy of the place. The village itself provides a glimpse into a simpler way of life, with opportunities to connect with nature and find inner peace.
