Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Sigandur ferry for its unique experience and scenic views of the Sharavathi backwaters, calling it a 'great ferry service' that significantly cuts travel time. The upcoming bridge is noted as a major development. However, long queues and waiting times, especially on weekends and holidays, are a common drawback, along with the need for careful driving onto the ferry.

"This is the one of the places near sagar where we can cross the river with our car in the ferry an awesome experience to take once in the life time.
A great ferry service that connects the Road from Sagara to Sigandur. It cuts down the travel time significantly and takes passengers and also cars and bikes across the Sharavati river valley. As of November 2021, the price for one vehicle is 50 INR and for one person it is 10 INR. It's something worth experiencing. However, please note that during holidays and weekends there's often a long queue of vehicles waiting to get on to the ferry and there are just 2-3 ferrys operating. And just one in one direction every few hours. So it's recommended to park the cars on the pier and go to the other side to Sigandur and take the cars only if you need to, to avoid long wait.
It's a peaceful and refreshing experience the ferry ride offers stunning views of the Sharavathi River.

During peak hours and festival days, there might be longer waiting times.Rest of the days not much crowded."

"This transport facility is very good. One has to wait for his turn to park the car in the ferry. Charges are
Panchayat charges: Rs 50 per car.
Ferry transport charges: Rs 50 per car+ Rs 10 per person inside the car.
Driving into and out of the ferry amy require bit of parking skills. Once inside ferry we could not move out of car. Every inch in the ferry was full! One has to be very careful to take the car in and out. The slope provided in the ferry as well as land is high. My car bottom hit the ground while driving out of the barge.
Locals have priority in service."
