"Rosemala Viewpoint is a hidden gem that rewards adventurers with a truly magnificent experience deep within the Shenduruney forests. Reaching this spot is an adventure in itself, as the long route requires a demanding, fully off-road journey, often necessitating a jeep or a robust SUV. This exciting drive through the dense woods sets the perfect adventurous tone for the visit.
The reward, however, is the great view—a sweeping, panoramic vista of the verdant Western Ghats and the sprawling Thenmala Dam reservoir that stretches out like a huge blue lake. Surprisingly, the final leg to the main viewing area requires only a short 150-meter trek, ensuring that the stunning payoff is accessible to almost everyone once the rough journey is complete.
For visitor convenience, there is plenty of parking space at the base. The current entry ticket prices are set at ₹83 for Indian nationals and ₹236 for foreign nationals, Which is not that much value for that view because charging ₹83 for an person is pretty high and the view is good but we don’t have long area to roam around and look. It’s fully protected with boundaries and other safety measures."

"The journey to Rosemala is truly the highlight of the trip. The off-road drive itself is an adventure, offering a thrilling ride through dense greenery and rugged trails. Since the place is quite remote, it’s wise to carry enough fuel and pack essentials before you set out. The entry fee is around ₹80 per person, which is quite reasonable considering the experience that awaits.

When we visited, the day was misty, so we missed the clear panoramic views, but the charm of the journey more than made up for it. Traveling through the forest, crossing streams, and breathing in the cool air make the entire trip unforgettable. It’s a safe spot for families, and the combination of nature and serenity leaves you refreshed.

To reach the top, there’s only a short 200-meter climb, after which you’re rewarded with breathtaking views. The watchtower offers a spectacular vantage point — sitting there with strong winds brushing past, clouds floating by, and the vast valley below is an experience like no other. The sight of the lush green forest merging with the reservoir creates a sense of tranquility that words cannot fully capture. The entire ride itself feels like dissolving into nature."
