"It is amazing to see the kind of effort that Vijayanagara empires have put in to create the architecture marvels. It is a must visit place and if you are not aware of the history then better hire a guide and it is worth. We hired a guide for 2 hours to cover this place and other nearby monuments. We thoroughly enjoyed. You may have to bargain with the guide since there is no govt guidelines though they say it is govt fixed rates but they do not provide any receipts. We went in summer it was hot so we usually went in the morning or evening after 4 PM. Carry plenty of water."

"Most of the palace is being restored timely. I would recommend taking a guide (600/rs) to really understand what you are looking at. It is amazing to see all the rich culture, to know more about Indian people and culture during ancient times and trading. The only drawback is the climatic conditions of the area. It is scorching hot between 11 am to 3 pm, which makes the trip a bit exhausting, however you have tram service available to reach the palace from the starting point at 20/rs per person both ways. Refreshing drinks (fresh fruit juice and buttermilk), souvenir stall are available at reasonable price. The entry ticket is 40/rs per person which covers all the tourist places. Dance mandir for the queen and how the sound is produced from the stone are amazing to see and hear. Also buy the book "Hampi" which gives a lot of information"
