"In mid-March, my visit to the 9th Mile Shooting Spot in Ooty was a bit disappointing. I was expecting to see the lush green grasslands you see in movies, but they were all brown and dry.
The entry fee of โน30 felt like too much for what was there. While the views of the hills are nice, the main reason to goโthe beautiful grassโwas missing. It's really just an open area where you can relax and hang out with friends or family.
The best part was the Eco Tribal Shop. They had some cool handmade crafts and natural oils for sale, which was a nice surprise.
Overall, it's a good place to visit if you just want to get outside and chill. But if you're hoping for the famous green scenery, you might want to visit at a different time of year."

A local guide informed me that the best time to witness its true beauty is during July and August, when the entire area turns lush and green. This location is also quite popular because several movies have been shot here, which adds to its charm. Even though I couldnโt see the greenery in full bloom, it was still a nice experience to explore the place and learn about its significance."

Place is maintained okayish.
For the entrance price they are charging they can provide much better hygiene in the place as well as washrooms (beyond horrible)
The horse riding activity here is very good, though the price they charge is bit higher (I kind of paid because liked the horse - healthy and good) - reason for 4 stars.
Ample parking is there if it's not peak season."
