"I attended Sunday Mass here, this church is believed to have been established by St. Thomas the Apostle, making it one of the oldest continuously functioning Christian churches. The peaceful setting and the traditional prayers in the Syriac-Malayalam language made the whole atmosphere feel very holy and special. The church's old stone walls and quiet, simple interior made the place feel special. Attending the service in such a historic church was a peaceful experience."

"The church's said to be the arapally (half church/chapel) established by St. Thomas the Apostle around AD 63. According to the recorded history, over the last two millenia, the local Hindu Rajas protected and offered patronage to the church.
The church's structure's totally different from the regular churches I've visited either in the Greek Orthodox areas, the RC areas or in Anglican/Lutheran/Baptist Christendom. Its predominantly made of stone, with its pillars reminiscent of an old Roman or Greek structure, the likes of which one would expect more in Sicily or Greece.
Some very old inscriptions and sculptures of the cross (different from the Latin and Greek crosses) can be seen - one of the crosses is said to have been carved by the Apostle himself. A relic of St. Thomas is present inside. I have been visiting the church for decades. During my interactions with the clergy, I found them to be very helpful and welcoming.
The church's a very peaceful and spiritual place - or more accurately, it had been a very peaceful place. During my trip last week, I noticed that the beautiful, age-old wooden porch had been removed - one only hopes that the mangement would put it back after some restoration and would resist the tempation to "modernise" the church building. Some 40 years ago, the place was more peaceful and less built up, one could almost imagine watching St. Thomas go to the chapel to pray.
I highly recommend the Arapally."
