"Historic and old temple located at the banks of river vagai at the centre of the town of Thiruppuvanam. Lots of buses available from the Periyar bus stand, Madurai to reach the temple. Buses from Sivaganga, Melur also available. Buses going to and from Paramakudi, Ramnad, Rameswaram will pass through the town Thiruppuvanam stops here. This temple is famous for giving Amavasai tharpanam (Ancestral Amavasya offerings)"

"This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. He is known as Sri Pushpavaneswarar and the Ambal is called as Soundaryanayagi Amman. One of the ‘Thiruvilaiyadals’ of Sivaperuman was done here. Said that this place is more holy than Kasi. This temple is made up of many beautiful sculptures. At the entrance we could see Sokkanathar and Thirumalainaicker. Sri Natarajar is beautiful here. Separate tower for Amman. This temple situated on the bank of Vaigai river. The last riots are done on the bank of the river. We can lit’ Motcha deepam’ in this temple for ancestors.Wheel chair available here. Car parking on the roadside. Must visit temple.
