Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Al Markaz Al Islami Mosque for its grand, unique granite architecture and the exceptionally well-ventilated, spacious prayer hall. The vibrant Friday bazaar is a highlight, offering a lively cultural experience with local goods and snacks. Some find the mosque to be a clean and iconic landmark of Makassar.

"My first visit to this grand mosque was for Friday prayers. Amazing atmosphere with the Friday bazaar in full swing. The unique main roof structure reminds me of the old wooden churches found in Central Europe. The covered walkways around the mosque allow for a pleasant experience while heading towards the main prayer hall from the parking area. The main prayer hall is a massive open space under the unique roof structure. There are large openings instead of walls to allow for great ventilation. Even when the prayer hall is full, it never feels suffocating. After Friday prayers, the congregation streamed out to the bazaar once again. I had a sweet snack and bought a belt while waiting for the crowd to disperse."
