Embrace the Laid-Back Vibe

Amed is a tranquil fishing village, a stark contrast to Bali's bustling south. Expect a slower pace, fewer crowds, and a focus on natural beauty. It's ideal for relaxation, diving, and snorkeling, not for nightlife or extensive shopping. Instagram

Getting Around Amed

While Amed is spread along the coast, renting a scooter is the most popular way to explore its various beaches and dive sites. Taxis are available but can be pricier. Consider pre-booking transport from the airport or other parts of Bali, as it's a 2.5-3 hour drive. Instagram

This is Amed, a sleepy and undeveloped fishing village on Bali’s east coast where you won’t find any big beach clubs or hotel chains Instead, you’ll discover beach bar shacks and oceanfront accommodation for only $100/ night (or less!). AMED MINI GUIDE 🗻🤿🐟🌴 How to get there: It’s a 3 hour drive from Denpasar Airport, or 2.5 hours from Ubud. I recommend booking a transfer, as the drive is a l...

One of the best places in Bali to experience a magical sunset is Amed Jemeluk beach 🌅✨ ⁣ ⁣ Amed Beach in Bali is most likely already in your Bali travel itinerary! The island’s eastern shoreline boasts an underwater playground, and Amed Beach is among the favourite between two main sites (the other being Tulamben, 25km to the north). Reviews Summary

Amed is highly praised for its exceptional diving and snorkeling opportunities, clear waters, and stunning views of Mount Agung. Visitors love the laid-back atmosphere and the abundance of local eateries. However, some find the beaches less ideal during high tide due to boat presence and express disappointment with littering in certain areas. InstagramReddit

"Cool and clearish water. Waves are calm but pick up quickly in a storm. There are loads of boats parked on the sand so you have to manoeuvre around them which can be very annoying, especially in the high tide. Absolutely stunning views of Mt Agung during clear sky’s, and there are lots of great local warungs along the beach"

Ryan

"Not much beach during high tide and it's a little shameful that the people litter so much but a great area for diving and snorkeling."

"It's supposed to be a new hotel. Mould in the bathroom. Hot water ran out after 40 seconds. The staff have no experience and unable to assit in anything else than what the hotel.offers. they tried to charge us for breakfasts when it was included in price. We paid for a family room, 2 adults, and 2 children. and there was inly a gueen bed and a sofa. The toilet leaked so the bathroom floor was always wet and slippery. Tiny breakfast. Upper floors around pool and restaurant. Empty bottles and dishes laid around. And never picked until the next morning. We always had to ask for service as the staff just had in the kitchen. We will never return."
