What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sukamade Beach offers a truly unique and unforgettable ecotourism experience, particularly for its turtle conservation efforts. Visitors rave about witnessing nesting turtles and releasing hatchlings, calling it phenomenal and amazing. However, the journey is notoriously long and bumpy, and accommodation is very basic, making it unsuitable for those seeking comfort.
"It was great to see a real life sea turtle on the beach and let the little ones out to sea the next morning! Only downside is the long and bumpy road back and forth and why do we need to get up at 5am to set the turtles free? I'm sure they are fine waiting another few hours :)"

"Definitely a big program which worth the price and the time investment.
That said it is not for everyone as the accommodation is bare minimal and basic. And that is what you have to consider if you are fine with it. The other part is luck: not always will you be lucky to see the turtles laying eggs. Most of the time you do, but there can be occasions where you won't and it could be tough.
The rest is amazing! Great guides, stories, the village and the people in it are lovely and open in general. Take a walk there and if you have the time visit the rubber and coffee factory as well.
The turtles were of course the main show and both events with them was phenomenal! The egg-watch and the baby turtle release both are experiences worth alone the travel there.
At the end I was really tired but this was an amazing experience!"
