Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Transportation Museum TMII for its extensive collection of vehicles, especially the outdoor exhibits like vintage trains and airplanes, and its incredibly affordable entry fee. It's considered a fun and educational experience for families and transport enthusiasts. However, some reviewers note that certain exhibits can be dusty or kept locked, and maintenance could be improved in some areas.

"Fun and Educational Museum for Transport Lovers
Museum Transportasi at Taman Mini is a great stop, especially if you're interested in vehicles, history, or Indonesian development. The museum covers a wide range of transportation modes — from traditional vehicles like pedicabs and carts to modern trains, airplanes, buses, and even maritime transport. There are also life-sized displays outside, including a real airplane and train cars you can walk through, which makes it fun for both kids and adults.

The layout is spacious, and many of the exhibits include historical information about how transport evolved in Indonesia. It's both educational and nostalgic, especially seeing older models of public transport that aren’t around anymore.

Tip: Some sections may be under renovation or not fully open, so it’s a good idea to check in advance. Also, a little maintenance on the displays would make the experience even better.

Still, it’s a unique and worthwhile visit, especially if you're already in Taman Mini. Great for families, transport enthusiasts, or anyone curious about how Indonesia has moved forward — literally and historically!"

"Outdoor area is massive, most collections are outdoor (planes/train/helicopter/buses/taxi/etc, esp locomotives there many of them)

Not much exploring indoor area as much time & energy already spent on the outdoor, but many area had lights turned off inside (unsure why)

Tickets only 10k IDR, with 5K add on to enter the commercial plane (unfortunately it's dusty). Another 10k to ride train inside the museum outdoor area, but at the time it's not operating due to maintenance

Restroom & mini food stalls available in multiple places, better prepare cash as not all of them provide qris.

Overall worth the price eventhough the collections rather old and dusty (most of them you can't enter too). Better visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat"

"First time going to the Museum Transportasi. While it is indeed not like the museum in Malang, this one is still worth to visit especially with kids. They have a lot of very old locomotives displayed, as well as cars, motorcycles, history of Garuda Indonesia and more. Entry ticket is just 10rb."
