What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Yeh Mampeh Waterfall for its stunning natural beauty, impressive cascade, and the refreshing rainforest walk. Many appreciate the relatively uncrowded atmosphere, especially when visiting early, and the belief in the waterfall's sacred, healing properties. Some note the uphill trek and the potential for increasing tourism.
"A nice walk to a beautiful waterfall, it is uphill so if you have any mobility issues like knee problems etc then it is recommended to bring a hiking poles or similar to make things easier.
The waterfall is stunning and there were quite a number of people there in the middle of the day. I'm not sure why people need to film themselves screaming here? It's a quiet, pleasant, sacred place so be respectful.
On the way is a vegan hangout warung. There seems to be development happening along the way so it will probably be overly touristic in no time so get in to the waterfall before it's ruined.
On the way back down there were macaques which was really pleasant to see, adults and infants. They were pretty shy and not aggressive like you find in other areas, but if provoked or threatened then obviously they will be dangerous.
It's a good walk/hike and worth visiting if you're in the area."

"Worth the walk and the AU$3 to enter.
The walk takes about 15 minutes on a slight incline and you can feel the temperature dropping slightly as you go.
There is also a lot of wild bamboo and other interesting flora as you climb.
The waterfall itself is rather stunning, getting up close the spray and outer moisture is very refreshing. You can even take a shower under the falls, and the locals say it is a fountain of youth and well-being."

"We were on a two day scooter trip and chose this waterfall as on of our stops - i’m so glad we did!! We arrived around 9:30 and had the place to ourselves. The waterfall is well sign posted, although there has been a slip, the track is well maintained and it’s an enjoyable walk. There is a fantastic vegan cafe (we are not we stopped at on the way back, which I highly recommend. It’s a really calm and beautiful place, we felt really grateful for getting to visit. Cannot recommend enough, the tickets and parking are very reasonable!"
