What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about The Diving Bell's incredibly unique nautical theme and its expertly crafted cocktails. The lively atmosphere, often enhanced by live music, makes it a memorable spot for a night out. While it can get busy, the distinctive experience is consistently praised.
"Very interesting landmark that goes unnoticed by many. The diving bell was a brilliant engineering invention that allowed Dublin's port to expand much faster and made the city what it is. Brave workers would dig mud underwater. "If you have a cold, it seems as if someone is hammering a chisel in your ears", said one of them, 150 years ago. The inventor, Bindon Blood Stoney was a cousin of the british computer scientist Alan Turing! The visit is free and it's a 15minutes read. Totally worth it"
Breno Martinelli
"The diving Bell is an old dive bell that was used to build the walls of the rivers edge, worth a look during a city walk."

"Free to visit. An interesting look at some Irish engineering history. The diving bell was used for almost 100 years when building the walls of the quays. As an engineer myself, I think this would be an interesting place for university students to visit to gain an appreciation for such an innovative piece of engineering. Did I mention it's free?!"
