What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Inishnee Island's serene beauty and the delightful Inis Ní Looped Walk, calling it a 'gem' for its tranquility and picturesque Connemara scenery. While some note the lack of facilities, the peaceful atmosphere and historical ruins are consistently praised.
"Just before you hit Roundstone off the R341 Road and accessed via the small bridge, there is a turn signposted Inis Ní, and here you will find a terrific walking trail that loops around this small island. A trail that is a maze of narrow roads and lanes now linked up through the Inis Ní Looped Walk. It's a total gem in terms of scenery and tranquillity. Lots to revel in along the way but pay special attention for the ruined early medieval oratory dedicated to St Mathias. Not so much remains of the edifice today, but for location those early Christian monks chose one of the most scenic parts of Ireland to erect their oratory. Nearby Roundstone is the ideal place to relax and unwind."
