What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Pontone's breathtaking views and charming, authentic atmosphere, calling it a dreamlike escape. However, many note the challenging, steep terrain and the high cost of parking, with some finding the main street overly crowded during peak times. Despite these drawbacks, the delicious food and unforgettable scenery make it a highly recommended destination.
"Breathtaking and unforgettable!
The Amalfi Coast is truly one of the most stunning places you’ll ever see—the views are absolutely postcard-perfect at every turn. Towering cliffs, sparkling turquoise waters, and picturesque villages make this destination something straight out of a dream.
I highly recommend visiting by coach if possible. The roads are incredibly narrow, winding, and steep, and while experienced drivers might manage, it’s not for the faint-hearted! If you do decide to drive, go for a small car—a big vehicle would be a real challenge on those roads.
Beaches are beautiful but often require a walk down the cliffs, and some do charge for entry. It’s worth it for the experience, though! The restaurants along the coast are wonderful—laid-back, welcoming, and happy to let you enjoy your meal without rushing you, which is refreshing in such a popular tourist spot.
Parking is expensive—around €10 per hour—so if you’re driving, plan to make the most of your time there.
Honestly, words don’t do it justice—I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. A place you’ll never forget!"

"The Amalfi Coast, with its stunning cliffs and vibrant colors, is a sight to behold, but be prepared for a reality check. We visited on a Friday, and the place was absolutely packed with tourists. It's essentially a very tiny village with a single, bustling street that was almost impossible to navigate.
The entire place had the distinct feel of a tourist trap, from the crowded streets to the overpriced souvenirs. Despite this, the food was a saving grace. We managed to find some genuinely good food options, which was a welcome surprise amidst the overwhelming commercialism. It's beautiful, no doubt, but be ready to share the experience with a few thousand of your closest friends."

"It was an impressive trip, something I had been dreaming of for a long time. I was lucky to have a car, so I got to see all the towns along the coast. The only problem was that parking was extremely expensive! Be careful, because the price boards say one thing, but they charge you something else, and driving is chaotic—nobody uses turn signals or respects traffic signs 🤪"
