What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Aymavilles Castle for its beautifully restored interiors and diverse collections, offering a deep dive into family history. The fairytale-like exterior and accessible design are also highlights. Some note that interiors are more museum-like than original, but the audio guide and overall presentation are highly regarded.
"From the highway you can already admire the imposing square lines with the four towers that merge into what looks like a fairytale castle.
The visit begins in the gardens, where you can see how the many owners have renovated it, transforming it from a fortress to a luxury residence, with numerous collections and photographs of the families who lived there. The video on the fourth floor is interesting, illustrating the structural changes and 3D models of the castle.
The audio guide reveals hidden corners such as the "fake" ceiling of the cathedral and the paintings of the owner's daughter along a room.
Dogs allowed in a carrier.
It is recommended to purchase one of the many Valle d'Aosta Cards to visit all the sites and castles."

"Beautifully restored castle owned by the same family over centuries and now by the Aosta region. As with other castles in the Aosta valley owned by the region, the most recent renovation that started around 2000 is beautiful and what is shown among the many objects from the region requires you spend quite some time here. You can rent an audio-guide in the ticket building that you pass on your left hand side when entering the metal gates close to the parking."
Sebastian Reiz
"Our dogs friends not allowed 🥺🐾 but with the crazy hot 🥵 we stay out in the tree shade at the garden . Nobody come to complain. Parking 🅿️ around is free with parking disc."
