What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are consistently impressed by the sheer scale and historical significance of Piscina Mirabilis, marveling at the ancient Roman engineering. While some note the limited amenities and the need for sturdy footwear, the unique underground experience and architectural grandeur make it a highly recommended stop for history enthusiasts and photographers alike.
"Amazing cavernous cistern. The rows of stone pillars really give the impression of a cathedral. Only opens on the hour for people to go in and see. English tours are possible but I think you have to schedule in advance. Ample paid parking nearby although the does appear to be a few spots behind the ticket area. Only takes about 20 minutes to see."
Knud Hermansen
"That is an absolutely phenomenal historical site. Its grandeur amazes and excites you! Of course, better maintenance of this remarkable Monument would be welcome. But more painful is that it is not well promoted for tourism, the infrastructure is deficient, so it is not known anywhere near as it deserves."
Daniel W.
"Pls check the days, when its open. We were here for the second time, because first time we came there on Friday, when its closed."
