What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Strada Arco Basso is celebrated as an iconic Bari experience, with many praising the charm of watching nonnas hand-make orecchiette and the opportunity to buy fresh pasta. However, some visitors have noted concerns about commercialization, with certain shops potentially selling factory-made products instead of authentic handmade pasta.
"Unfortunately a huge disappointment. This particular shop ‘Nunzia La Pastaia’ is just commercial pasta from a factory. Yes the face of the brand sits outside the shop rolling pasta, however when you ask for the fresh pasta she just shoves the commercial bags in your hands and doesn’t give you any of the fresh ones. If you must visit, head to the other ‘Nonna’s’ on the street who give you the fresh stuff."

"It's a must see Attraction in Bari. Handmade orecchiette is in reasonable prices even though highly touristic area. The ladies lovely."

"Nunzia is a true icon of Bari Vecchia, embodying the city's culinary traditions and warm spirit. Watching her expertly craft orecchiette, the traditional ear-shaped pasta of Puglia, right on the streets is a captivating experience.
More than just a pasta maker, Nunzia seems to be a friendly and welcoming figure, often sharing smiles and a bit of the local culture with those who stop by. Her presence adds a vibrant and authentic touch to the atmosphere of Bari Vecchia. The opportunity to purchase her fresh, handmade pasta directly from her is a unique culinary souvenir and a chance to taste a true piece of Bari's heritage."
