What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Laghetti di Cavagrande is a breathtaking natural paradise, offering a challenging but incredibly rewarding hike to stunning crystal-clear pools. Visitors rave about the refreshing swim and the serene beauty of the canyon. However, the steep and uneven terrain requires proper footwear and significant physical effort, making it unsuitable for some.
"Beautiful hike going down and have a swim in the natural pools. Bring a lot of water and good walking shoes because the way down / up is not flat at all. It’s about 1hour to go down and the same to go up."

"The highlight of our trip to Sicily! About a 45 min hike each way, quite steep in parts and over very uneven terrain. Bring appropriate footwear"

"Nirvana! The only problem is getting there and back. If you’re over 60, heavy or out of shape, have respiratory, knee, hip or back issues, or are pregnant, this is likely not the right activity for you. As others have said, this is a very difficult hike. It’s 1.8 km each way and practically vertical with countless switchbacks. Key to have the right shoes! We were told by the proprietor of an inn we stayed in that we could do this in flip flops. They were wrong! You must have sneakers at a minimum and better to have hiking boots! Bring water shoes in your bag. Towel is a nice to have but not necessary as you dry off in the sun quite easily. Definitely bring plenty of water! If we did this again we would have gone early in the morning to spend the day with a nice picnic lunch and work sneakers. I did it in water shoes and the rocks were not nice to my feet. The saving grace was we were late so did the hike after the sun was behind the mountain. Doing this in the sun would be absolutely brutal."
