What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views from Castello di Calatabiano, often describing them as stunning and spectacular, encompassing the valley, Etna, and the Ionian Sea. However, some reviews mention potential issues with accessibility, including the castle being closed or the elevator not functioning, leading to disappointment. The lack of detailed historical information on-site is also a recurring point.
"This site is closed because 2 yrs ago there was a fire. Really? It’s a pity. And from the outside there is not much one can see. I wish they opened it again. Also it’s a long walk or, if you are really good at driving, you can reach the base by car and then go up to the Church that is next to the base of the castle. But be careful if you drive because there are a series of tight curves that I was almost sure I was going to scratch the car (I did not) while praying no one would come from the opposite direction."

"A fun ride on the lift but sadly not a lot to see once you're in the castle. Great views around though."
