Visitors find the Terme Achilliane Underground Baths a charming and historically rich site, offering a unique glimpse into Roman life beneath Catania. While small, its well-preserved ruins and intriguing history make it a worthwhile stop, especially when combined with contextual information or a guided tour. The main drawback for some is its size and the initial difficulty in locating the entrance.
"Cute small Roman baths. Did not expect that they would be something like that there! Entrance was a bit hard to find as we bought our admission before visiting the museum. Entrance tucked away by the right of the church. Small, but has plaques with info."

"Really interesting place with rich history and many layers to it.
I recommend doing the Catania subterranean tour as it includes this place but with detailed history so you can easily spend about 20 minuets enjoying it rather than running through thick the low score reviews do.
Yes it’s falling apart but if you actually look you’ll be able to see the history"

"Impressive ancient Roman baths, right under the feet of the very busy Elephants Square of Catania. It feels a bit magic once you find it, days after running around the area clueless about what is underneath.
Very easy to miss, but it's a definite must for visitors of Catania, specially since it only takes 5-10 minutes to see (quite small). Tickets are available at the diocesan museum, to the right of the cathedral, between the 2 souvenir shops. Costs about 5-6 euros per person.
If you like caves and underground exploration, you will enjoy this."
