Reviews Summary

Forte Tre Sassi Great War Museum offers a unique, albeit sometimes chaotic, historical experience within an authentic WWI Austrian fort. Visitors appreciate the vast collection of battlefield artifacts and the stunning Dolomite scenery, though some find the exhibition lacks context and can feel overpriced. Combining the visit with nearby trenches enhances the profound historical impact.

"A unique small museum, set in the remains of an Austrian fort at the frontline that saw heavy Italian bombardments during the Great War, situated amidst the peaks that were the theatre of some of the fiercest and bloodiest fighting humanity has seen. Hundreds of objects on display, of all kinds, mostly found in the battlefields by the family of "recuperanti" ("retrievers") that amassed the collection. An hour or easily even more (like in our case) of learning and reflection.
Note: it can get quite crammed in high season."

Marco

"Overpriced. Unprofessional. Chaotic exhibition. Infinite amount of items without any provided explanation or context. Stop by, enjoy the view and the building from the outside.
Also, POS not working."

Oren Magori

"A sobering history reminder that removes any romantic ideas one might have of the First World War. We hiked the nearby bunkers and trenches which added to the experience. Walking along those and viewing the mountains and the valleys through the "windows" in the rock leaves a lasting impression."
