What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the authentic medieval charm and delicious Umbrian cuisine found in Quartiere di San Martino. The historic atmosphere and traditional food are consistently highlighted as major draws. However, some diners have experienced significant delays in service, which can detract from an otherwise enjoyable meal.
"Spent 2 days in Gubio and had lunch here including the bruschetta and lasagna. We do not speak Italian but they were very nice to us. Seemed like mostly locals. The food was delicious. It was right in the square and perfect for people watching. Town of Gubio was our favorite overall. Beautiful hiking. Not too many tourists. Peaceful and safe."

"Me and my brother came for dinner at 8:02 pm. We were asked to sit inside because the patio tables were all reserved. About 70% of the tables were empty, but did have reservation cards on them. The waiter, a young, very friendly man, took our order diligently. As time went by, local people started filling the tables around us. As plates kept coming out of the kitchen, we figured people who sat before us were being served, but after 40 minutes of waiting we noticed that the people who sat way after we did were already eating, and I'm talking about five or six families, plus the tables which were previously empty but reserved and now full and enjoying dinner. We asked the waiters a couple of times and they reassured us our plates were coming. Finally, when after an hour we decided to leave, we were told "the boss" determined who was served in what order. This is simply unacceptable. Too bad. The food looked great and the waiters were very nice. I guess we'll never know."

"An original trattoria from situation and food quality point of view but with young staff and modern vibe in a beautiful atmosphere in the middle of the medieval town. Mostly nice staff, quick service and tasty food. Perfect place to experience Gubbio's old town feeling and have a couple of great meals. 😉"
