"No water 😢"

"Located at the foot of Mount Piz Galin, this small karst lake is approximately 1,450 meters long and 13 meters deep, but its size varies depending on rainfall.
Lake Andalo is a special, almost magical, place because it appears and disappears.
In spring, when the snow melts, or in autumn, when rainfall is heaviest, the basin fills, and consequently the lake expands.
In other seasons, however, such as summer, the water can disappear. This happens because the lakebed was once rich in glacial pebbles, which have disappeared over the years, giving rise to the phenomenon of the periodic lake. There are only eight lakes in the world affected by this phenomenon, and Lake Andalo is the only one of its kind in Trentino. Furthermore, it has no visible inlets or outlets; the water exchange occurs underground.
You can take a lovely walk around the lake on a paved, flat path suitable for everyone, even strollers or those with small children (2.6 km - duration about 1 hour). The walk is very relaxing and takes place within the Andalo Life sports park.
