"A nice stop when you travel to beautiful Lecce! One can dwell in the quiet Baroque atmosphere in the library, reading or just people-watching at the open lounge on the ground floor. The regular printing machine exhibition is special. We also visited the periodic exhibition of the Italian actor Carmelo Bene which was nicely curated! (We were exceptionally grateful that a friendly staff especially opened the exhibition hall for the two of us on their close day!)"

"A beautiful place well worth visiting! It fits in the Lecce Baroque style. The building houses the Lecce public library, and the Sala Pellgrino is a beautiful reading room with walls containing leather bound Italian classics, while students work at the reading tables. The courtyard is a cheerful place with colorful modern chairs, a great place to sit and read for a while when you want to escape from the bustle in the nearby streets. There was also two interesting exhibits: one of old printing presses, typewriters and early photocopiers, and one of photographs of the Salento region in the 1950s-1970s. The staff was super nice! I had to come back the next day because I had left my wallet behind (it was turned in, with all the documentation and cash, by an honest library patron) and it seems the entire staff was waiting for me and shared my sense of relief! We experienced a lovely moment of community, despite the language and culture barrier. This will be one of my best memories of Italy."

"It is a nice library, perfect for both local and foreigners.
You need a library card to access the building; however it is quite easy to obtain. Not everyone in the venue is able communicate in a language different from Italian, but they all are very friendly and service minded.
The building is located in the city center which allows you to enjoy not only the library and its infrastructure but the whole city."
