"oK!"
mauro capomaggi
"The sanctuary is located in the hamlet of Bozzola, in the municipality of Garlasco, in the province of Pavia, in the heart of Lomellina. It is nestled in the Lombardy countryside, in a setting that still retains a serene and mystical atmosphere.
According to tradition, in 1465, the young Maria, a deaf and mute, found shelter from a storm under a chapel with a fresco of the Virgin. The apparition of the Madonna in a globe of light restored her speech and entrusted her with a mission: to build a sanctuary to protect Lomellina. From that moment, Maria was called "Maria Benedetta" (Blessed Mary) and retired to a monastery between Tromello and Alagna.
The church was built between 1462 and 1483, around the miraculous tabernacle. The building has a Greek cross plan, with the façade decorated with terracotta statues by the sculptor Pruvini.
The sanctuary is a welcome and prayer center, managed by the Congregation of the Holy Family. It hosts celebrations, pilgrimages, and moments of reflection. Every Wednesday evening there is a well-attended prayer of deliverance and healing."

"Church built in the 17th century, on the site where, according to Catholic tradition, a Marian apparition to a mute shepherdess took place.
The sanctuary underwent continuous expansions and modifications until the beginning of the 20th century, when the new façade decorated with terracotta statues was built.
Being a fairly recent renovation, from a strictly artistic point of view it does not present any particular merits.
However, it is a sanctuary much frequented by the faithful and in excellent structural conditions."
