"A little-known gem, a small church (itself built over an ancient chamber tomb) that's sure to captivate! Descending into the church's underground section, you can admire the beautiful niches carved into the rock by the Basilian monks and the frescoes depicting sacred icons... absolutely not to be missed!"

"A very evocative church with hidden surprises inside. The 11th-12th century church has a staircase leading to a Byzantine-style crypt with frescoes.
It can be visited with the Plinian Fountain tour."
Stefano Colombo
"It's a unique place. A small Byzantine church, the perfect conclusion to a tour with guides accredited by the Puglia Region. The tour begins, after a very helpful welcome from the front office, book office, and ticket office staff, with a visit to the Fonte Pliniano (Plinian Spring), a truly unique place. The tour continues through the Messapian Walls, the Necropolis, the historic stone gates that are part of the walls, and, at the end of the tour, the Church of San Pietro Mandurino, a spectacular historical site and former refuge for Basilian monks. But there's so much more to say. Going there for a guided tour is particularly fascinating. I highly recommend it!"
