What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Procchio Beach is celebrated for its vast sandy expanse and family-friendly atmosphere, with many enjoying the sunset views and water sports. However, some visitors have noted concerns about water clarity and a perceived greasiness, alongside the island's generally high prices.
"Nice big sandy beach! Not worse than Cavoli, if you want more space and some waves- it's perfect!"
Elena Sestacov
"This is a 1 km long Beach divided in three, the first one is the bigger and it's covered in sand, here you can find restaurants and services. Next is a smaller beach covered in sand and small pebbles, here water is calmer and it's perfect for small children, you can find one of the best lunch restaurants there called la Guardiola. Last is the smaller beach, it's the calmest both in noise and waves. The water here is the cleanest but there are lot of poseidonia, a water plant, so if you're scared I don't recommend coming here.
Overall the beach is well furnished with all types of services ranging from tennis courts to pedaló and canoes."
Ars Alchemie (LEGION)
"The water is murky, with a greenish tint and a greasy film floating on the surface. It looks polluted and unappealing, making it hard to enjoy swimming or relaxing by the shore :(
I recommend the beach in Pomonte; it's great for snorkeling."

Exploring Procchio's Three Sections
Moving along, you'll find Campo all'Aia, which is slightly smaller and characterized by a mix of sand and small pebbles. This section is often recommended for families with young children due to its generally calmer waters and less intense waves. It still offers amenities but with a slightly more relaxed feel than the Lido.
Finally, the Guardiola area is the smallest and calmest of the three. While the water here is often described as the cleanest, it's also where you might encounter more poseidonia (seagrass). For those who don't mind the natural marine flora, it offers a tranquil escape.
Water Quality: A Mixed Bag
However, this perception isn't universal. Other travelers praise the beach, noting its beautiful sand and enjoyable waters, sometimes comparing it favorably to other popular Elba beaches like Cavoli. The calmer sections, particularly Campo all'Aia, are often highlighted as being more pleasant for swimming.
It's important to note that water conditions can fluctuate due to currents, weather, and natural marine elements like seagrass. If pristine, crystal-clear water is your absolute top priority, you might want to research other Elba beaches known for this, but Procchio still offers a vast and accessible sandy coastline with plenty of amenities.
Sunset Spectacles and Water Sports
This stunning backdrop makes it the perfect setting for activities like paddleboarding and kayaking. Imagine gliding across the calm water as the sun dips below the horizon – it’s an experience that many travelers cherish. Several water sports centers operate along the beach, offering rentals and sometimes lessons, making it easy to get out on the water.
