Reviews Summary
Villa San Martino offers a significant historical experience as Napoleon's former summer residence, with unique features like the Egyptian Hall and trompe-l'oeil art. While many appreciate its heritage and garden, some visitors note it could benefit from better maintenance and clearer historical context.
"As part of heritage - nice to visit. But nothing a lot to see to be honest. Just few rooms with some furniture, some definetely original. Entrance 5€ for adults, 18-25 years 2€. Below 18- free- and that is nice which gave one more star to my review."
Ivan Jovanovic
"Has a lot of potential but feels kind of “bad maintained” considering it used to be the residence of one of the most important figures back in the day. Parking was 5€ and entree 2€(18-24years) and 5€ for rest, under 18 is free. Overall worth a visit due to its history but don’t expect too much."
Fred Hfmn
"I visited this villa after Villa dei Mulini and enjoyed this visit more than the previous one. Even if both villas are quite decadent and seem to lack maintenance, this one has a larger garden and more interesting rooms, with intricate decor. Some of the walls are painted with beautiful trompe l'oeil and there is a distant sea view among the vegetation that add to the atmosphere.
Some people complained about the parking costing 4€, regardless of the length of stay, beware that on May 2024 the parking is a whopping 5€. Also, dogs are not allowed anywhere on the property.
Luckily I was with my family, so we took turns for the visit and stayed long enough to get the 5€ worth of parking ;-)"
