Villa Necchi Campiglio in the center of Milan – the center! Crazy. One of my very first Dreamspaces posts and one of my favorite houses ever.  It was home to sisters Nedda and Gigina Necchi, and Gigina’s husband, Angelo Campiglio. They lived in the Villa until 2001, when Gigina, the last surviving member of the household, died. The villa was donated to FAI @fondoambiente, which restored it and th...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Villa Necchi Campiglio for its stunning modernist architecture, exquisite Art Deco interiors, and the serene beauty of its gardens and iconic swimming pool. Many highlight the immersive experience and the value of the included audio guide. Some note that it can get crowded, and wish for more on-site amenities.

"A must see villa from the 1930s and it’s garden. The villa belonged to 2 sisters who enabled the public to visit it. It is totally furnished and there are qualitative explanations via QR code + cultural mediators on site. Garden is free and there is a nice coffee by the pool."

G M

"It was a fascinating experience. I find it incredible how museums and memorial houses have remained in the same form and composition as when they were inhabited by their owners. This is also the case here. The fact that you can see so many authentic details, walk freely through the house among the furniture, imagine the lives of those who lived here, and better understand the historical and cultural context is truly special. Not to mention the architectural execution.

Additionally, the quality of the audio guide was excellent, providing a wealth of information accompanied by a soundtrack that immerses you in the story. It is definitely a great starting point for getting to know the city of Milan."

Ivan Nicolae

"Great place for architecture and design lovers. Definitely spend some time meditating in the garden, the harmony of plants, architecture and art is perfect"
