"Nice ancient Castle... only open Sunday afternoon"
Tim Nijsmans
"For decades noting the boards signs to it en route for dinner @ our friend Rafaello Raffaelle Buffoni's house in Montignoso, I kept telling my husband about visiting it. Well, we finally did this autumn. Fortunate to get fair weather at each leg. Take this first because it is compact and unknown. Even to the local yokels. As a starting point a guide informs you that it is the most ancient Fort. She spends time answering questions, fleshing out the past, happily engaging with every visitor. Makes up for the paucity of the structure. Btw, Aghinolfi are actually Longobards whose ancestor is Emperor BarbaRossa/ Redbeard of the Milano Duomo edifice. Incidentally, he rode with his alleman tribes all the way from KaiserLautern in Germany to conquer them italics!! His living descendant the Borromeos (one beauty married to the Fiat Angnellis' grandson the other to the princely Monaco Rainieri's grandson!) It's all en famille..."
