What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Città della Scienza for its engaging and interactive exhibits, particularly Corporea and the planetarium. It's highly recommended for families and anyone interested in science, offering a fun and educational experience. Some find the location slightly out of the main tourist path, but the journey is generally considered worthwhile.
"Museums in Sicily are old-fashioned and seriously boring, so when I read that this museum was at international standard, I got curious. We arrived there at 10am, left after 1pm, took part in two guided tours (insects and human body). My kids were enthusiastic: some of the interactive demonstrations (heart rate, burning a peanut, human vs chimpanzee memo race, movement of your skeleton, etc.) were extraordinary. We got tired and didn’t stay for the Planetarium show and we did not see most of the museum, but we got what we went for: education and entertainment for big & small. Great place!
Mind: it’s far from the city centre and not well connected. The museum consists of two parts on either side of the road, connected by a bridge, which was closed, so we had to cross a really busy road.
Take a picnic with you (there’s a nice outdoor site with a pond) and have a fan with you, the AC is modest."

"Difficult to get to on public transportation, a bit pricy, a tad grungy, not a ton to do for younger kiddos and absolutely OVERRUN with bored teens on school trips. We were very excited to go and were left a bit disappointed. The human body exhibit was quite good at least. Definitely the highlight."

"It's OK if it's raining and you are looking for a place to go with the kids. The exhibitions are interactive and the kids had fun. I found many activities would deserve clearer instructions. The whole place is a bit dated and could do with a better maintenance. But all in all it served the purpose."
