"I visited this place on September 2024. You can park your car nearby Osteria Irma (not in the ones reserved for customers restaurant) - please be sure to arrive early in the morning or late afternoon (just before the sunset) otherwise there is a concrete risk of not finding any parking slot. In 45/50 minutes of walking (medium pace), you can reach the top of Forte di Orino and enjoy the stunning view of Varese and Maggiore Lakes. The trekking route is quite easy (there are no steeps or uneven grounds) - it is suitable for children and dogs as well. It would be great improve the signals from Varese city centre as the internet connection does not properly work and you cannot always use Google Maps."

"If you choose to hike from Caldana, keep in mind it’s quite steep and therefore challenging. The path is well marked. Once you get to Forte di Orino, you’re rewarded with a breathtaking view. Totally recommended, but good hiking shoes are a must."
