Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Piazza dei Miracoli as a breathtaking and historically rich site, living up to its 'Square of Miracles' name. The architectural grandeur of the Cathedral, Baptistery, and Camposanto is highly admired, with the Baptistery's acoustics being a standout, unexpected highlight. While the Leaning Tower is the main draw, the entire ensemble offers a profound sense of history and artistry.
"Stepping into Piazza del Duomo in Pisa (also known as the Square of Miracles) is an absolutely breathtaking experience – it truly lives up to its name! The sheer size of the piazza is remarkable, providing an expansive and grand setting for the incredible cluster of architectural masterpieces it contains: the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Camposanto, and, of course, the Leaning Tower. It's an open, awe-inspiring space that allows you to fully appreciate the scale and beauty of each monument.
What truly elevated our visit, however, beyond the visual splendor, was discovering the extraordinary acoustics within the Baptistery. Our tour guide, in a moment of pure magic, gave a short song to demonstrate this, and it was absolutely captivating. The way the sound resonated and carried within that magnificent circular space was astounding – clear, vibrant, and utterly enchanting. It was an unexpected highlight that added another layer of wonder to an already magnificent setting.
The feeling of standing in such a historically significant and architecturally stunning space, with such remarkable auditory qualities, is something truly special. Piazza del Duomo isn't just a collection of buildings; it's a vibrant, living testament to human artistry and ingenuity. It's a place where history, beauty, and even sound converge to create an unforgettable impression. Don't just look – step inside the Baptistery and listen too!"

"Visited the Duomo on a weekend during these summer days (06/06/2025). The place was beautiful and rich in history, with stunning architecture both inside and out. However, unlike the Leaning Tower, the Duomo was much more crowded — it seemed like many tour groups were visiting at the same time, which made the interior feel quite busy and a bit rushed.
Despite the crowds, the site is very well maintained. The marble floors, intricate ceilings, and grand columns are truly impressive and worth taking the time to admire. If possible, try to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the peak crowd hours.
Entry was well organized, though the waiting lines were a bit longer here due to the higher number of visitors. Currently, some minor restoration work is ongoing, but it does not interfere too much with the visit.
Overall, the Duomo is a must-see if you’re in Pisa. The artistry and historical significance of the building make it an unforgettable experience — just be prepared for the crowds, especially on weekends in summer. A beautiful and pleasant place, despite the busy"

"Open-air masterpiece steeped in history and harmony
A breathtaking square home to Pisa’s most iconic landmarks: the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and the Monumental Cemetery. Each structure is a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture, beautifully arranged on a wide green lawn. The atmosphere is both peaceful and majestic—perfect for photos, slow walks, and soaking in centuries of history. A UNESCO World Heritage Site that absolutely lives up to its name: the Square of Miracles."
