Until 1922, there was no commemorative plaque in Recanati on which to place a laurel wreath in memory of the Victory and the fallen of the Great War. Veterans lamented this, and to remedy this omission, the Recanati Sections for the Disabled and Combatants created a marble plaque, deliberately plain and bearing a single date: November 4, 1918.
