What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Spiaggia delle Rocchette is praised for its beautiful sandy shores, clear waters ideal for morning snorkeling, and natural surroundings. Visitors appreciate the option of a free beach area and the lively evening atmosphere with DJ sets. However, the limited free space and potential for high costs and poor service at some paid beach clubs are noted drawbacks.
"Great snorkeling beach. Go early in the morning when the water is clear and calm (we reached around 9:30 am in early June). Enter the beach near the rocks to your right. Swim along the rocks for a couple hundred meters. You will pass many nooks and corners with schools of fish taking shelter, which you can explore at your leisure.
Water got murkier later in the day once the waves picked up. So we left around noon.
There is a tiny free area for people to set up umbrellas and lie down, but it gets full very early (say 10-11am on a weekday). After that you have to buy a lounger+umbrella space on the paid beach nearby. There are beach restaurants.
We biked there from Riva del Sole on rental bikes. Not sure where the car parking is but it is probably a long walk."

"Do not go to Bagno Rocchette beachclub!!
Scammed in paradise.
We paid way too much for filthy sunbeds and got zero service in return. The staff were rude, dismissive, and made us feel completely unwelcome.
This place has trashed a beautiful location with greed and arrogance. We left feeling angry and cheated."

"All private beach sections essentially and not much sand at high tide. Most places do an umbrella with two loungers for €20-25 a day (more for lockers, changing rooms, parking, etc but you can choose how much to get).
There’s a good public restaurant at the far end of the beach and decent parking at the end of the road.
The campsites and holiday villages along this stretch seem great."

The Snorkeling Experience
As the day progresses and waves pick up, the water can become murkier, diminishing the snorkeling experience. Therefore, planning your visit for the morning hours is highly recommended if underwater exploration is a priority. While the free beach area is limited, the proximity to these rocky snorkeling spots makes it a worthwhile endeavor. Remember to bring your snorkeling gear or rent it from nearby establishments.
Beach Club vs. Free Beach
However, it's important to research specific beach clubs before committing. Some reviews have highlighted instances of perceived overcharging and poor service at certain establishments, leading to a feeling of being 'scammed'. While these clubs offer comfort and convenience, it's wise to check recent reviews for customer satisfaction and value for money. The choice between the free beach and a paid club depends on your budget, tolerance for crowds, and desired amenities.
Evening Ambiance and Events
These gatherings are a popular draw for both campers and visitors looking for evening entertainment. The beach bar at Santapomata becomes a hub of activity, with people enjoying cocktails and socializing. It's a great opportunity to experience the local nightlife and soak in the summer vibes. Check the campsite's schedule for specific dates and times of these events, as they are typically held during the summer months.
