"I rarely do reviews. It must be extraordinarily good or extraordinarily bad for me to take the time to write a review. I regret to say this place is extraordinarily bad. I have had a home about 90 minutes from this resort for almost 40 years and have been up and down the Mediterranean coast. This was our first time at Le Dune. From the moment we walked through the front door there was a disconnect between the hotel and ourselves. The front desk either didn't care or was incompetent. At check-in, we asked for a dinner reservation for the hotel restaurant. We were told that the front desk could not make a reservation and to call
ext # 207 at 6:30 which we did and booked a table. I was also told by two people that I could not enter the restaurant without long pants. I've never been to a beach restaurant that required pants in the restaurant but I said ok and got back in the car in search of pants which I purchased and wore for dinner. Upon entry, I was the only man in pants, everyone was wearing shorts. There was a lot of food and it was ok but we were told our only option was the four-course menu. We could not order ala-carte. When the bill arrived, we were charged for each course as if we ordered ala-carte. I spoke with the manager and it was corrected. Two beach chairs and an umbrella come with the room charge. There are 3 rows of these, starting closest to the water and moving back from the ocean. We checked in with the attendant at 7:30 AM before anyone else was there and were told the only chairs available were in the back row further away from the hotel. I don't have a problem with being in the back row if that is what I signed up for but no one told me how to get into the front road. There was zero communication. You are in the back row period. On day two we call at exactly 6:30 PM as instructed for a dinner reservation and were told the only reservation available was at 9:30 PM.
Once again, we were told to call at 6:30 and we did on the dot and there was nothing available. On a last extraordinarily bad note, the place must have been beautiful at one time but it's very run down at this time. It was bad enough that we actually paid to check out a day early to go home. Positives: even though the front desk was horrible, everyone else was kind and hospitable. The room was a good size. The beach is quite nice with a good location. We found a magnificent restaurant a few minutes down the road by the name of La Spiaggia Di Sabaudia, our waiter was Adriano. Dinner and service were exceptional."
