"Opposite Palazzo Corvaja we find this small but beautiful Baroque church. It was built in the 17th century, partly on the pre-existing Roman Odeon, which in turn was built on an ancient temple of Aphrodite. The church stands out for its special Baroque entrance, in which pink marble from Taormina was used. Above the entrance we see the statue of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Inside, the spiral columns and beautiful oil paintings stand out."
