What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Water Lane Murals, describing them as an inspiring, immersive cultural experience filled with history and activism. The ongoing expansion and the vibrant artwork are consistently praised, making it a must-visit for its beauty and significance. Some visitors noted challenges with parking and a desire for clearer signage for first-time visitors.
"This is a currently expanding project. So, if you visited a few days ago, visit again. It is an amazing and immersive creative experience for the entire family and is full of inspiration, history and activism. It was like receiving a massive hug from my culture. The street is clean (cleaners were present all along) and there's much to do in the nooks and crannies along the way. We ended with a visit to the National Gallery (a few steps away) followed by jelly from the jelly man outside the gallery. The kids were deeply engaged and they especially loved the food art. Couldn't ask for more.
As an out-of-towner, I was unsure of where to park and even exactly where the walk starts/ends. I got lucky because it was a weekend visit so I got a park along one of the main roads somewhere in the middle that wasn't so busy. Maybe some signs can be posted to help people like me find parking easily on a busier day. On that note, you can actually drive along the Art Walk but I highly recommend walking for health benefits as well as to give yourself adequate time to immerse in the various pieces.
Also consider adopting a block and commissioning an artist to bring it to life (again, currently expanding project) and become a little part of an expanding legacy. An excellent initiative all round."
