Reviews Summary

Ryujin Onsen is celebrated for its historic charm, therapeutic hot springs that leave skin feeling rejuvenated, and a welcoming, non-touristy atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the tattoo-friendly policy and the authentic experience offered by its ancient ryokans. However, some find the accommodations dated and the pricing for stays to be on the higher side.

"This onsen was amazing!
It costs about 800 Yen (towels cost extra) and is in the middle of the mountains in Wakayama. They even allow people with tattoos to enter so I had my first onsen experience over there.
The changing room is very spacious as well as the showers and the actual baths. For women there are three different pools that differ in temperature and one is outside. Through the windows you can see the mountain river and forest. It was so relaxing!"

Julia Montero Deistler

"Historical hot spring. It's a pity that misty of the places to stay look shabby lacking upgrade and maintenance. We were quoted 20,000 per person for a stay with 2 meals. Definitely, overpriced."

Alan Dolezalek

"Nice onsen and tattoos not a problem."
