What Travellers Say

Reviews Summary

Komachi-dori is a highly recommended street for its incredible variety of Japanese street food and unique shopping opportunities. Visitors love the abundance of delicious snacks and the lively atmosphere, often finding it more enjoyable than other tourist-heavy streets. Some find the restaurants to be small and overcrowded, and the street can get quite busy.

"Nice shopping street with various themed cafes such as totoro and animal cafes (please dont go to animal cafes, its abuse!). Lots of specialty shops such as miffy and other things. Good spots to eat too, such as 'vintage island coffee' (great sandwiches). There is also a smoking area inside the building with a red carpet in front."

Rosalie Charlotte

"I am shocked thats there's so little review about this street.
There are many streetfoods on this street like grilled skewers, salted cucumber, traditional japanese snacks, drinks including beers, kakigori etc.
For the reference, I have been to nakamise dori. Compared to nakamise-dori, I like this place better because it is not as cramped by tourist as nakamise-dori, but the abundance of food is probably same or may be more. Like I think I would have to stay 2 or 3 days to eat all food that I want to eat here. There also various animal cafes.
This is the street leading to tsuruka ouga shrine, but I enjoyed the street more than the shrine itself.
In summary, this is the must go for those who come to kamakura who love foods like me."
