Visitors highly praise the Ideha Cultural Museum for its role as a gateway to understanding Dewa Sanzan's spiritual heritage and for its practical gear rental services. "We stopped by here before hiking Haguro-san, and we’re happily surprised to find that you can hire out waterproof trekking boots for free! We also spent ¥100 each on trekking poles for stability (rainy and slippery day). The staff were helpful, kind and warm towards us, and gave us information on how to hike the mountain. Highly recommend this place! It’s a shame we were short on time, and didn’t get a chance to explore this museum more!"

"This museum introduces worship at Dewa Sanzan. Admission is 400 yen for adults, 300 yen for university and high school students, and 200 yen for elementary and junior high school students. Parking is free and walking sticks and boots are available for rent, so we recommend renting them if you plan to visit the shrine or five-story pagoda on a day when the ground is poor.
You can learn about worship at the time, so stopping by before visiting will give you a deeper understanding. You can learn about how Matsuo Basho stopped here on his Oku-no-Hosomichi trail and how mountain ascetics worshipped. You can also try blowing a conch shell, which is fun. The tour took about 40 minutes."
