"It’s a beautiful place, but the weather was quite unpredictable that day we visited. It was sunny one moment and then raining the next. So, it’s best to bring an umbrella if you see a high chance of rain, as there aren’t any shaded areas inside. The stairs aren’t too many, but there’s a long one when going down. Afterward, it’s an easy trail, unless you’re up for a hike up the mountains."

"Hagurosan Gojunoto is a 5 storey pagoda in the middle of a cedar forest. Mt Hagurosan is one of the three sacred mountains of the Dewa region in Japan.
The tower is a 15-25 minutes walk in and the terrain is easy to walk on. You can also admire the calmness of the forest and enjoy the tranquility.
It seems like a pilgrimage just to walk in to visit the tower. So enjoy the scenery while you can.
There may be renovations going on during the Spring to Autumn period where scaffolding is erected and the tower view is blocked. You can visit the official website and check the status of the scaffolding."
