Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum to be a surprisingly cool and educational experience, especially the unique -15°C drift ice room and the charming Clione. While some note it's a smaller attraction, the friendly staff, delicious ice cream, and superb rooftop views make it a worthwhile stop.

"A few seconds in the -15 degree celcius room to freeze a towel, feel the ice from the sea of okhotsk, see the interesting tiny creatures from the sea of okhotsk, taste the blue salt ice cream, view the shiretoko mountain range from the roof top….. a good slow moment there."

"The facility has three floors. The first floor is a souvenir shop. After purchasing a ticket, you go down to the basement level, which includes three sections:
1. Drift ice viewing – You can put on thick winter clothing to experience a temperature of minus 15 degrees Celsius, and there’s an interactive activity where you can freeze a wet towel by swinging it in the air.
2. A multimedia theater – It introduces the phenomenon of drift ice.

This area is more suitable for children, with limited visual appeal or playability. The ticket isn’t very cost-effective.

On the second floor, there’s a dining area, and the third floor is an observation deck."

"Very interesting place. There are real drift ice for visitors to experience in -15 degree room. The staff is very friendly and offered such a personalized experience for me and my family.

Soft caramel sea salt ice cream is delicious and the view from the observatory is priceless.

Worth the visit."
