Sea of Japan itinerary review

I’d like a review and any recommendations from anyone who’s been in these areas - I speak fluent Japanese (so can handle any inaka related business) (self diagnosed but I spent some years as a kid there) and have been many times - but first time in these areas. We’re a couple…

Is a Matsue/Izumo and Okayama detour with a go?

I’m planning a trip to Japan in the early spring, and would like to try to extend my trip to the west a little. I’m thinking of an internal flight from Tokyo to Izumo (I don’t want the stress of rushing to book the sleeper train), then spend two nights there. I am mostly…

We don't talk much about San'in here... I did a year of eikaiwa work in Kansai over two decades ago and I have been back for several trips since then so I'm an experienced Japan tourist. This time, I picked a region I've not visited before. From next week, I'm going to be…

"I've been touring museums in all 23 wards of Tokyo, and I highly recommend this one. For just 200 yen, it's well-organized and gives a good understanding of Adachi Ward's unique strengths.

You can learn about the history of Senju, a must-see in Adachi Ward. It began as a post town, then developed into a vegetable producing area, a market, and a small factory. After the earthquake recovery, unique industries were born and continue to this day. I was particularly surprised to learn that there were sweets and toy factories here.

As a Kochikame fan, I really appreciate the exhibit focusing on the ghost chimney of Senju's thermal power plant! It really does look like three instead of four!

The key to attracting repeat visitors is to utilize digital technology.

1. Since it's a haiku town, visitors could write haiku and enjoy past works at random.
2. Display areas affected by earthquakes and war on a digital map.

It seems like there are a lot of possibilities. I'm looking forward to it."
