Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently impressed by the historical significance and unique architecture of the Usui Pass No. 3 Bridge, often describing the experience of walking through the old tunnels as a journey back in time. The free admission and scenic surroundings, especially in autumn, are frequently praised. However, parking can be a challenge during peak times, and some visitors wish for more readily available amenities.

"Very beautiful in peak autumn!! 🍂 definitely worth stopping by if you’re nearby. Small hike up, you can look for 5 minutes or 50. It can be a short stop or longer. Low commitment. There’s 2 car parks, the one with the toilet is slightly further but the walk down is nice."

TravellingAzeroth

"On my way from Chichibu to Karuizawa, I made a detour to visit this place. The transportation is inconvenient, so I recommend driving yourself. It's a historical old bridge, but it is very well maintained. The surrounding area feels cool and refreshing, and there's a forest trail nearby for hiking. If you have the time, you should come and experience it."

SS Y

"Definitely worth making the long drive to visit.

Too bad we did not go early enough, else we will have time to walk the full length of both tunnels.

We are impressed by the workmanship of the past to build the bridge and the perfectly curved tunnels brick by brick.

Do go up the stairs to walk on top of the bridge and the tunnel.

Don't stop at admiring from below.

If intending to walk the full length, think a 2h visit will be good, if not 3h."
