"Visited on a weekday in August with perfect sunny weather and no rain. It wasn’t crowded, although the Blue Pond area had several tour buses. Parking was easy and close by. The bridge offers a lovely spot to take in the views, and the waterfall nearby is beautiful with a stunning mountain backdrop. A charming house overlooks the whole scene, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. The clear blue water reflects the sky perfectly, making it a great place for photos. It’s a quiet, scenic spot that’s worth visiting for nature lovers and photographers. There’s also a small shop selling potatoes, ice cream and melons too. Great for some refreshments."

"The minerals in the water actually turn it a vibrant teal blue and yes it really is that blue. Almost like a video game scene come to life. The waterfalls are spectacular. Do plan ahead tho because somethings will be closed at certain times of the year. Regardless, it was a wonder to see. I would suggest going to the Blue Pond as well. Really is a must see. My IG handle is natureboisof_kayaks if you want to see more pictures. I'll post a few here but there is really so much more to see. As well I would recommend coming in the fall as the leaves turn vibrant yellows and reds that really pop against all the evergreens throughout the area."

"✨ Shirahige Waterfall – A Curtain of Silver Whispers ✨
Shirahige Waterfall in Biei is like a scene painted by nature’s most delicate hand. From the cliffs covered in lush greenery, countless streams of pure water cascade down like strands of white silk, creating the appearance of a shimmering silver beard, which is how it earned its poetic name. The water pours gracefully into the turquoise-blue Biei River, where the milky mineral-rich streams blend with the crystal-clear current, giving the river its mesmerizing jade and sapphire tones.
Standing before the falls, you can feel both the gentleness and power of nature—the mist cool against your skin, the sound of rushing water echoing like a soft symphony through the valley. Framed by vibrant forests that change colors with the seasons, the waterfall is breathtaking in every moment of the year—lush greens in summer, fiery hues in autumn, and a mystical frozen beauty in winter.
Shirahige Waterfall is not just a natural attraction—it is a place where time seems to slow, and the soul feels refreshed by the eternal rhythm of water meeting earth. A true hidden gem of Hokkaido. 🌿💧"
