And on the way back to Tokyo to be seated on the left. Truly a breathtaking view. I can imagine what foreign visitors thought of this marvel transportation back in 1964 when the Shinkansen debuted. The Shinkansen ride was great, smooth and fast. The views out the window are endless with beautiful country side, tunnels and mountain terrains. We had upgraded to the green class car and it was worth every penny!"
